Single
I have lived most of my life in the Twin Cities, but have traveled all over the world and spent several years in Midcoast Maine. My family and friends are scattered far and wide. I am not currently partnered but have had many loves and adventures. I studied Spanish, French, and political science at Macalester College in St. Paul. My master’s degree in English as a Second Language and Ph.D. in Linguistics are from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I devoted 28 years of service to the University of Minnesota, teaching English to international students, coordinating a summer English as a second language program, and directing a program to prepare international teaching assistants for the U.S. classroom and a second program to prepare graduate students from all disciplines for teaching and the faculty role at U.S. universities. I co-authored two textbooks, one of which was the lead text in its field for two decades. After leaving the University of Minnesota, I worked as a functional expert with open source computer applications in higher education and for the past ten years have been a co-owner of Three Canoes LLC. As a part of this work, I served as a functional expert for the development of the Open Source Portfolio tools in the Sakai Collaborative Learning Environment and was a founder of the Karuta Open Source Portfolio project under the umbrella of the international Apereo Foundation. I have presented at numerous local, national, and international conferences and have consulted for approximately 100 universities in the U.S., Japan, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. I also served on committees developing language assessment tools for the Educational Testing Service and the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. I currently live in St. Paul with my Maine coon cat Charlie. I am mostly retired, busy reinventing my purpose(s) in life, and spending quality time with friends, while continuing to travel in the U.S. and internationally. Greetings to everyone.

After high school, I attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduating in 1972 with a BA in Theology and Economics and an MA in Theology in 1975.  In 1979 I graduated from St. Louis University with a joint degree in Law and Health Care Administration.

Professionally, I served as in-house counsel for a medium size hospital system in Aurora, Illinois and eventually moved on to be the VP/General Counsel for a national healthcare system located in Philadelphia. In 1989, I went into private practice with a focus in health care and Medicaid mental health services. In 2013, I retired. The Rehabilitation and Community Providers Association of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Psychologist Association recognized me for public service and assisting providers of mental health services.

My lovely wife Lisa is a retired geriatric social worker. We have been married 44 years.  We have two sons and four young (ages 6 and under) grandchildren. They are a source of great joy and we are blessed to live close to both families.

The Philadelphia area is our home and we enjoy it. Lisa is a volunteer at Longwood Gardens, a former DuPont estate that is a nationally recognized and celebrated public garden. I enjoy serving as a volunteer guide at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia and at the Brandywine Battlefield State Park in Chester County, near our home. While I stopped playing competitive soccer many years ago, watching the World Cup is still a thrill for me.  I am an enthusiastic amateur gardener, enjoy salt and fresh water fly-fishing, and practice Bikram yoga. We also enjoy travel with the Road Scholar organization, having visited Italy, London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid and Boston in the past few years; hopefully, Israel and/or Greece next year.

I will not be able to attend the reunion, so I extend my best wishes to everyone.

I Married Joel Rickenbach the summer after graduation.  We celebrated our 50th anniversary last week and are now looking forward to the 50 high school reunion.  We live on the family ranch that was started in 1910.   We ranch with two of our sons.  We have Red Angus and Black Angus cattle.  Joel and I have 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.  We are supposed to be retired but that is a joke.  Maybe we move slower so it seems we are busier than ever.  I get to most of the grandchildren's cross country, football, volleyball, wrestling, and basketball games.  Hate to miss a one.

Never felt the urge to move from St. Louis Park. Married 41 years to Ann (SLP '73), two fantastic daughters, two great grandsons and one more grandson on the way.  Retired except for the 50 hours/week babysittiing and working a part time job, just for fun. Still attend Aldersgate United Methodist Church where I was confirmed along with 30+ members of the SLP Class of '68. Look forward to seeing you once again! Send Sidney a MessageSend Sidney a Message

Well....after graduating from StLPark, I've lived nearly forty of the next fifty years in the Park here. It's always been a great place to live, hasn't it? You betcha!

After working during high school at Penny's Supermarket...I decided to work the next 49 years at States Electric, in Golden Valley. Of those 49 years, I worked 15 of them along side my Dad. I learned a lot from him...work related and also the personal side of a father. Good stuff!

I was married for 15 years to Barb Kirberger....sister of our high school classmates, Terry and Becky Kirberger. Barb and I had 3 children together.

Currently, I've been happily married for over 30 years to my wife, Tjode. (When you see her at our reunion, ask her about her name) We have a 26 year old son, who helps me stay young inside!

For the past 25 years, I've collected family and extended family photos....and have put them all together into my "Wuollet Family Plus" genealogy tree on Ancestry.com. I love this "work", especially during the winters here.

I have great memories of my garage band days, during and after high school. We never really got very far with our music we made...but I have always loved live music, of all kinds, since then. Thank you, Beatles! (I went with friends to their concert at Metropolitan Stadium - 1965)

I hope to see many of my friends at our 50th Reunion....and also make a few more!

Fifty years. I didn't think I'd have such sore muscles and stiff joints entering " middle " age. It's a shame we have to grow up so soon.    After high school I received a degree in physical education. Other than subbing, I never had a real teaching job. Barb and I have been married 46 years and I'm sure that qualifies her for sainthood! We own a fishing resort north of Grand Rapids on beautiful, crystal clear Deer Lake (zaksresort.com).
We have two kids. Gina, the "good" child lives just 3 miles away with their 4 boys. She homeschools her kids and stays very active with their activities. Troy moved to Moscow, Idaho where they live with their 9 kids. We call him every other day to remind him that we're not talking to him because he took our grandchildren so far away. We have partnered with him in a critical care medical transfer company (pactems.org) and a medical standby company that services many of the forest fires out West (FirelineMedics.com). Other than Sturgis, most of our traveling is going out to Idaho about 3-4 times a year.
Sadly, our classmate, my friend and brother-in-law, Fritz Kocemba died March 23, 2013. Very sad. He was a unique individual and is greatly missed. Fortunately, Barb and I saw him in the hospital. I got to thank him again for our friendship and how it led to me marrying his sister. I told him I had a lot to thank him for. Barb then told him she had a lot to blame him for, I think she was joking ;) My mother often referred to Fritz and Todd Gordan as the Eddie Haskell twins of St. Louis Park. They went out of their way to live up to that title. We always had a lot of fun!
We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
